"High Speed Two Limited (HS2 Ltd) is the company set up by the Government to consider the case for a new high speed rail network in the UK and for the first phase between London and the West Midlands.
"The Government has now carried out a public consultation on its proposed
high speed rail strategy, and the recommended route for an initial high
speed line from London to the West Midlands. It was launched 28 February
2011 and closed 29 July 2011. The findings are expected to be announced
by the Secretary of State for Transport later this year."
