OPDC Draft Local Plan Consultation: Efficient distribution of brochure to local communities. (Not.)

Have your say!

What’s happening?
"Old Oak and Park Royal in west London is home to the UK’s largest regeneration scheme. Capitalising on HS2 and Crossrail investment, the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation aims to fulfil the Mayor’s vision and will work with partners to create world class homes and an exemplar [sic] new sustainable neighbourhood. A place where thriving communities can live, work and enjoy, and a destination to drive economic growth.

"This exciting and ground-breaking project aims to create more than 25,500 new homes and 65,000 jobs. That’s around 14 per cent of London’s employment needs up to 2031. The development of the area will boost the UK economy by an estimated £7 billion per year.

"OPDC is the 'Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation', which has been set up by the Mayor to oversee this regeneration programme."
What’s in the draft Local Plan?
"The draft Local Plan includes:
  • A Spatial Vision, which in broad brush strokes, proposes how the area will be transformed
  • A number of Objectives, which describe how the plan will be delivered
  • Descriptions and policies guidance for a number of distinctive Places within the area
  • Policies governing how future buildings, spaces and places will be designed and delivered
  • Background information and evidence
"As you go through the website, you will see that we ask you questions about each of the elements listed above. We really want your feedback, because it is crucial to the future of Old Oak and Park Royal that you are at the heart of the project.

"We will read and analyse every comment you make, and use it to inform the next version of the Local Plan due for consultation in autumn 2016, when we will ask you again for your views again."
Consultation information
"The website presents OPDC's draft Local Plan, which sets out a vision, accompanied by a set of policies for different topics and places. Once the plan is approved, it will govern how the area develops in the next 20 years. The plan builds on the opportunity presented by the arrival of Old Oak Common High Speed 2 Station and the unrivalled success of Park Royal as the UK’s largest industrial area.

"This consultation is the first opportunity for you to help shape the future of Old Oak and Park Royal by giving us your comments on OPDC’s Local Plan."
